Position Overview: Heavy Equipment Technician repairs and performs maintenance on heavy equipment, service equipment and vehicles, and tucks. Responsible for preventative inspections and repairs on main system lines: fuel, exhaust, electrical, suspension, emissions, etc.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge on repairs and diagnoses for heavy equipment
  • Repair and maintenance on electrical, diesel, and gasoline vehicles (excavators, wheel loaders, and other vehicles)
  • > Transmission, chassis, body work, hydraulic / brake / electrical / suspension systems
  • Read repair orders and condition reports, work with supervisor and team to repair defects and ensure preventative measures
  • Document necessary reports and paperwork for repairs, work orders, time allocations
  • Complete consumables reports, input information into software system
  • Oil sampling analysis
  • Computer system testing
  • Engine overhauls
Required Qualifications:
  • 3 Years of Technician Experience on heavy equipment
  • OSHA Haz Com
  • OSHA Lock Out Tag Out
  • OSHA Fire Protection regulations
  • ASE Certification
  • Certificate in Electrical Diagnostics
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Welding / Fabrication Experience
  • Tier 4 emission systems experience
  • CAT Equipment experience
